I’m a Celebrity: Is Melanie’s sunny façade starting to slip?

Published:

As we head deeper into this year’s I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! jungle jaunt it’s becoming increasingly apparent that our loveable campmates are starting to get a little testy.

Let’s face it, one of the main reasons we’re watching the show is to see a few egos pricked and celebrity tantrums.

And there’s one contestant in particular who is beginning to get pretty cheesed-off with some of her fellow stars.

Following on from her ‘Pencilgate’ clash with actress Vicki Michelle, Melanie Sykes was seen scolding former X Factor hopeful Jake Quickenden last night.

Why?

Jake’s penchant for singing ALL THE TIME was getting too much for Sykes, who handed out this blast:

“You’ve got such a nice voice but sometimes it just gets on my nerves.”

Our Mel had previously been a ray of sunshine among a camp that has had its fair share of whiners (Gemma and Kendra being the notable examples).

But in recent days her sunny façade has slipped, leaving her out to 4/1 to win the show having been as short as 5/2 just a couple of days previously.

Meanwhile, Jake’s popularity continues to soar with Ladbrokes making the 26-year-old a 5/2 shot for victory having been available at 6/1 just 24 hours before.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Jake could barely be classed as a celebrity when he entered the camp, but he’s gone from zero to hero in a matter of days. If the support continues it won’t be long before he’s the new favourite to be crowned as the King of the Jungle.”

Those of you who fancy Jake to dethrone current favourite Jimmy Bullard had better be quick (no pun intended) to cash in before those odds plummet further.
