I’m A Celebrity: A guide to this year’s jungle-bound ‘stars’

Published:

It’s almost time to pack up for the winter and consign yourself to night on the sofa in the company of Ant and Dec and this year’s array of “stars”. That’s right I’m A Celebrity Get me Out of Here is back!

You can pretend you won’t watch it but why bother? You know you will!

Here’s a rundown of those entering the jungle this time round.

Jimmy Bullard – 7/4 to win

The former Wigan, Hull and Fulham footballer, 36, needs little introduction to our readers as one of the cheekiest chaps in the game.

Now retired, the former painter and decorator is quick to admit he had nothing else on and should quickly become an audience favourite.

Melanie Sykes – 8/1 to win

Those of a certain age will remember Mel, 44, serving an ice cold pint of Boddington’s while uttering the immortal advertising line “D’you wanna flake in that”?

Those who are not will know the daytime TV presenter from shows like Today With Des and Mel and Let’s Do Lunch. The former model is not shy when it comes to flashing the flesh so expect plenty of bikini showers in order to win votes.

Michael Buerk – 10/1 to win

Buerk made his name as a newspaper journalist in the 1970s and has been a mainstay of the BBC television’s news coverage for as long as we can remember.

Some might be expecting the 68-year-old to prove dull but with his fee rumoured to be around £120,000 the producers may know something we don’t.

Vicki Michelle – 16/1 to win

Nope, us neither! Apparently the actress shot to fame in ‘Allo, ‘Allo as Yvette Carte-Blanche and has had roles in low-budget movies since.

A stint on Celebrity Masterchef in 2008 could serve as solid preparation and an MBE for charity work could see her appeal to home viewers.

Nadia Forde – 14/1 to win

Is that the sound of a barrel being scraped? The 25-year-old Irish model is rumoured to be an ex-girlfriend of Rory McIlroy. Does anyone care?

Craig Charles – 5/1 to win

Whether you’re a Corrie fan or remember Charles fondly for his work on Red Dwarf or Robot Wars he is unlikely to disappoint in the entertainment stakes.

Expect him to be funny and confrontational in equal measures.

Tinchy Stryder – 10/1 to win

Record deals with Jay Z and duets with the likes of Calvin Harris and Pixie Lott are what led producers to 28-year-old UK rapper Tinchy.

Recent duet “Me To You Bruv” with the Chuckle Brothers is what led Stryder to them!

Kendra Wilkinson – 16/1 to win

The former Playboy model-turned reality TV star will give Sykes and Forde a run for their money in the babe stakes.

But with the 29-year-old married to NFL star Hank Baskett any chance of a showmance is off the cards!

Gemma Collins – 14/1 to win

TOWIE star Collins, 33, has ventured from the reality show before to take part in diving show Splash.

Her participation here will mark the end of her Towie career so she’ll be hoping to emulate the success of former cast-mate, Joey Essex, Down Under.

Carl Fogarty – 14/1 to win

Known to fans as Foggy the moist successful ever World Superbikes champion, 49, is looking forward to a new challenge.

With bike racing far from a mainstream sport, though, the Lancashire man will have to show a strong personality to survive.
