Havant & Waterlooville v Preston: League One side set for win

Published:

Two sides with plenty of FA Cup pedigree go head-to-head on BT Sport on Monday evening when 2008 giant-killers Havant & Waterlooville host two-time winners Preston.

The Hawks made their FA Cup name back in 2008 when they went to Liverpool in the fourth round and shocked the Anfield faithful by taking a 2-1 lead.

The Reds recovered to win 5-2 but the south coast club had already won the hearts of the nation and will be aiming to do so once again with a win over Preston, something available at 7/1 with Ladbrokes.

The League One side are the 4/11 favourites, while the draw is available at 15/4 but Oliver Yew has come up with three different bets for the last FA Cup action of first round weekend.

Both teams to score and Preston to win @ 19/10

The Hawks needed a replay to see off Canvey Island in the last round but it has been at home where they have been at their strongest in this competition so far.

While it will be difficult to pull off a third successive 3-0 win in this competition at Westleigh Park they can at least get on the scoresheet but in the end it will be the League One side who will prevail.

Half-time/Full-time – Preston/Preston @ 20/21

Preston have a huge FA Cup heritage and the two-time winners will be eager to match the heights of last year’s run to the Fourth Round.

It took Nottingham Forest a replay to dispatch the Lilywhites and while they are on a run of two straight away defeats, they have enough quality to run out comprehensive winners on the south coast.

Andrew Little to score anytime @ 6/4

Joe Garner is probably the obvious place to start after his 10 league goals so far this campaign but we are backing Northern Ireland international Andrew Little to follow up his League Cup exploits.

The former Rangers man, who scored 34 goals in 66 appearances at Ibrox, was on the scoresheet in Preston’s 2-0 away win over Rochdale in the second round of the Capital One Cup  and he will be hoping to impress Simon Grayson in cup competition again.
