Fury v Chisora II: Value lies with Del Boy for London clash
Undefeated Tyson Fury goes into this weekend’s clash with Dereck Chisora as the odds-on favourite at 1/3 but Ladbrokes News thinks the value could lie with Del Boy for this London bout.
Chisora is the 5/2 underdog, with the draw on at 25/1, and with Fury wining their last meeting it’s easy to see why.
However, while he has now been defeated four times, Del Boy is a different fighter than he was three years ago and could spring a surprise at the ExCel Arena.
Read on for what James Curtis sees as three of the best bets for the fight.
Del Boy comes into this fight some 20lbs lighter than the previous meeting and the 30-year-old has never been in better condition.
Fury may be the undefeated fighter but in truth an out-of-shape Chisora is arguably the biggest scalp on his 22-fight CV and even then he couldn’t get the knockout.
Chisora has been in much better company since the first meeting and while he was annihilated by David Haye he took Vitali Klitschko the distance and could just have too much for the Manchester man this time round.
While he likes a brawl and tends to throw some heavy shots it would be a surprise to see Chisora add to his 13 KOs here.
Fury has never lost, let alone been dropped, so Chisora will need to use his new fitness to be the more active fighter to appeal the judges in what is a home fight for the London man.
With a nine-inch reach advantage Fury will look to work of the jab but as Nathan Cleverly showed against Tony Bellew last weekend doesn’t always have the desired effect.
With 16 of his 22 wins coming by stoppage and 14 of those coming in the first half of fights this bet is perhaps the best value for those backing Fury to come out on top.
David Haye showed what can happen when Chisora’s chin is put to the test and at 6ft9in and around 18st12lbs Fury, who may lack a certain finesse, can undoubtedly bang.
Fury knows a world title shot is his if he wins and he’ll be looking to that in style so could go all out for the KO.
