Fantasy football: Toast of Tottenham won’t stay cheap for long!

Published:

Harry Kane’s first Premier League goal of the season actually represented his eighth in all competitions and there’s every possibility Tottenham’s new darling could embark on a points-collecting spree for fantasy football players.

Up until this point, Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has shown reluctance to bow to fan-pressure and give the young English striker a chance from the off in the top flight.

But now Kane has made his mark in the league, by his own admittance the Argentine may have to rethink his strategy on the White Hart Lane academy product.

In the wake of Tottenham’s 2-1 win at Aston Villa Pochettino said: “He maybe deserves to play in the Premier League more.”

Spurs looked like they would have to settle for a point at Villa Park heading into the final minutes, which wasn’t a great result considering Newcastle had just inflicted a third home league loss of the season on the Lilywhites already.

However, Kane had other ideas. The young Englishman’s well-struck free kick cannoned into the Villa net via Nathan Baker’s bonce and Spurs went back to within three points of the top four – where they are 11/2 shots to be in the final shakedown.

It was no surprise to see Kane applying the same Midas touch in the league which he has been bringing to cup football in a white shirt.

The local lad has already notched five goals in the Europa League this season, including a hat-trick against Asteras last time out, while his strike against Brighton equalled his second in as many Capital One Cup appearances so far in 2014/15.

Shoehorning the Engalnd U21 star into your fantasy team now before his price rockets seems like a must.
