Fantasy Football questions: Chelsea or Man City hitman?
It was a low-scoring gameweek in the Premier League, with almost all of the sides supposedly fighting for the top four struggling once again.
Two men who did find the net are the league’s most prolific pair – Sergio Aguero and Diego Costa – and picking one of the two for your fantasy side is one of three big questions we address heading into the international break.
Costa or Aguero?
The Man City player currently tops the Premier League scoring charts with 12 goals, after bagging another brace at the weekend as his side drew 2-2 at QPR.
Meanwhile, Costa notched the winner in Chelsea’s 2-1 victory at Liverpool, three points that kept the Blues – 1/6 to win the league this term – four points clear at the top.
The pair each boast a hefty price tag, making it tricky to crowbar both into your side, and if you have to pick one, Aguero is the man to go for.
The City player is averaging 1.36 goals-per-90-minutes in the league, better than Costa’s 1.20 and has more experience of English football, while the Spaniard tailed off in the second half of last season with Atletico.
After their draw at Loftus Road, the Citizens’ odds to retain their league title have drifted out to 5/1.
Time to ditch Graziano Pelle?
The Italian striker grabbed an assist in Southampton’s win over Leicester, but has not registered a shot on target in any of the Saints’ past three games.
Pelle has taken 15 shots in that run and his wayward radar is increasingly worrying for those with him in their fantasy football side.
Considering Southampton play Arsenal, Man City and Man Utd over the next four gameweeks, it might be worth moving Pelle on.
Whose price is going to rise over the international break?
Many managers will choose to ignore their side over the next week or so while domestic football takes a break, but some players will still be worth targeting early before their price rises.
Therefore, if you fancy any of Alexis Sanchez, Wayne Rooney or Ross Barkley for your side, it might be wise moving sooner rather than later.
