Everton v Swansea: Goodison to witness successive home wins

Published:

Following a sluggish start to the season the tide is turning for Everton who will fancy their chances against their most obliging Premier League opponents Swansea.

In contrast, the Swans begun 2014/15 in a blaze of glory but recent results, especially on the road, don’t bode well for their second visit to Merseyside within a week.

As you will gather from our three best bets for the contest, we’re expecting more woe in the north west for Garry Monk’s men.

Everton to beat Swansea @ 3/4

The hosts are looking for their third successive top-flight victory after brushing aside both Aston Villa (3-0) at home and Burnley (3-1) away, while their guests have only picked up a single point from their last three league road trips.

The Swans also suffered a galling last-gasp defeat to Liverpool at Anfield in the Capital One Cup just days previously, so this trip to Goodison Park is ill-timed in that respect.

Furthermore, the Toffees have the best record of any team against Swansea since they came up to the Premier League, collecting 16 of 18 points against them.

Romelu Lukaku to score first @ 7/2

As tormentors go, Ashley Williams and co will not be looking forward to confronting Everton’s record signing Lukaku, who has notched three times in five league outings against Swansea.

The Belgian is also in fine fettle, having notched against both Villa and Burnley.

Everton goals: 2/3 @ 21/20

Having found their groove again thanks to the sharp shooting of Samuel Eto’o and Lukaku, this registers a pretty solid-looking bet.

It would have landed in four of five Everton home games across all competitions this season as well, with Wolfsburg conceding four in the other.
