England v Slovenia: Clean sheet run to continue at Wembley

Published:

England’s start to Euro 2016 qualifying has been perfect so far –results wise at least – and this looks set to continue when Slovenia come to Wembley on Saturday.

As a result of their start to the campaign the Three Lions are clear favourites for victory at 1/3, with the draw priced at 4/1 and an upset billed as a 10/1 shot.

With little profit on offer for England backers though, Ladbrokes News’ James Curtis has scoured the 100+ markets to offer up three better value bets to consider.

Wayne Rooney to score anytime @ Evens

England’s captain would like nothing more than to mark his 100th cap with a goal in front of the Wembley crowd and his form for England at present suggests this could prove a formality.

The Manchester United striker has netted three in his last four international outings and is eating away a Bobby Charlton’s scoring record with each passing game.

Slovenia have lost three of their last five games, against weaker opposition, and should find Rooney too much to handle.

England to win to nil @ 5/6

England are yet to concede a goal in this qualifying campaign and have now kept five competitive clean sheets in a row.

The staunch defence is unlikely to be tested too strenuously by a Slovenia side that has failed to score in four of their last six outings.

2-3 goals to be scored

While Slovenia are unlikely to have Joe Hart rooting around the back of his net to retrieve the ball there is little to suggest England will be peppering their opponents goal with shots either.

The Three Lions have netted more than three goals just once in their last 10 games and that was against San Marino in a game in which they laboured to score.
