Charlton v Ipswich Town: Daryl Murphy goal among three best bets
Fresh from snatching a 2-2 draw away at fellow promotion hopefuls Bournemouth, Ipswich visit Charlton in search of their third consecutive win at the Valley and look great value to do just that.
Ladbrokes has the Tractor Boys priced at 11/8 for the win with the Addicks available at 19/10 and the draw a similarly tempting 11/5.
But with the Blues in rampant form of late, there only looks to be one winner here and we’ve got three bets to help you make the most of the action.
The Town sneaked a 1-0 win away at Charlton in the Championship last season to follow up on the previous campaign’s 2-1 victory at the Valley and an away day triumph by the same margin could well follow here.
With two of their last three wins in the division coming by a single goal margin, backing another slender victory for Mick McCarthy’s boys, against a Charlton side with just one win from their last five, looks a good bet to back.
The Republic of Ireland international is on course for his best-ever season for Ipswich Town with a tally of 11 goals making him the joint top-scorer in the Championship so far this season.
Murphy’s headed equaliser in the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth was the 31-year-old’s seventh goal in as many games and after scoring against the Addicks at the Valley two seasons back, we fancy the ex-Sunderland man to reintroduce himself to the Charlton faithful.
Despite McCarthy’s reputation for defensive prudence, Ipswich Town have been among the goals of late with the Blues bagging two in four of their last five Championship fixtures going into this encounter – back the Tractor Boys to get a couple more here.
