Arsenal v Man United: Draw part of our 3 best bets at the Emirates

Published:

Arsenal fans would have feared the worst when they saw Danny Welbeck pull up clutching his left hamstring in England’s 3-1 friendly win over Scotland but he should be fit enough to take centre stage against Manchester United.

Welbeck’s injury concerns will be a worry to Arsene Wenger and his side but they have been boosted by the return of striker Olivier Giroud and captain Mikel Arteta as they look to get their season back on track.

Both sides will be determined to pick up a much needed three points after the international break and it’s Wenger’s men who are the 6/5 favourites with Ladbrokes. United, who are bereft with injuries heading into this clash, are the 23/10 outsiders with the draw available at 12/5.

With the last two meetings between the two sides at the Emirates ending all square the draw is one of our picks for the three best bets on the action. Read on to find out more…

Draw @ 12/5

Arsenal’s difficult start to the season has mainly been down to the fact they have drawn too many games in front of their own fans.

The Gunners have been held four times in their last seven matches in all competitions at the Emirates and with the last two meetings between the two sides in north London ending in draws, we are siding with another stalemate between the clubs.

Both teams to score @ 13/20

With both sides suffering serious defensive issues (to put it lightly!) in recent weeks our banker of the day has to be both teams to score at the Emirates, despite the odds on price.

The two teams will line up with make-shift defences in north London because of injuries and with the attacking talent on display on either side it’s hard to see these two Premier League heavyweights not taking advantage.

Danny Welbeck to score anytime @ 17/10

Arsene Wenger may have revealed Welbeck is a doubt for the game against his former employers after his exploits for England in midweek but it would be a huge surprise not to see him on the field.

The former United striker was told he was not good enough for the club by Louis van Gaal and the 23-year-old will be determined to make his former boss eat his words.

Welbeck has been in brilliant form since joining his new club and hit another brace in England’s Euro 2016 qualifying win over Slovenia.

If he overcomes his hamstring niggle you would certainly not put it past him putting his former club to the sword and he is 5/1 to score the first goal of the game.

But with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney all set to be on the field it could be a safer option to back Welbeck to score anytime at 17/10.
