West Ham v Man City: Citizens to make a meal of win

Published:

Having thrown away an almost certain victory in Russia, Manchester City will know that nothing but a win will be acceptable when they make their journey down to the capital to take on high-flying West Ham.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side can be backed at 11/20 for victory, with the draw at 10/3 and a third-straight Hammers win available at 9/2.

And while the home side may tempt with the champions coming into this off the back of a long trip to Moscow, Ladbrokes News’ Ben Stones has picked out a trio of bets that offer more solid chances of returns.

Both teams to score and Man City to win @ 19/10

West Ham have shown that they really know where the net is this season, having bagged in their last eight games in all competitions.

They should have plenty of chances to continue that run against a City side that have kept just two Premier League clean sheets all season.

However, when it comes down to it, the bubble could burst for the east London side. The Citizens have an outstanding record against the Hammers lately, winning the last five meetings, with an aggregate score of 16-2.

Backing an away win with both teams finding the net looks a smart move.

Diafra Sakho to score anytime @ 14/5

While Sam Allardyce’s men have shown plenty of attacking intent this season, one man stands out above the rest.

Diafra Sakho has been tipped up to score a number of times by us here at Ladbrokes News already this season, and has duly obliged, getting six in his first six starts in the claret and blue.

His partnership alongside Enner Valencia up-front looks to have developed into something special, and there could well be more to come.

Throw in that Sakho has expressed his disappointment at missing out on a place in the Senegal squad lately, and he is sure to want to make an impression.

Total Goal Minutes – Over 158 @ 5/6

Originally, the tip was going to come for over 2.5 goals at 7/10, but a further look means this selection could provide a bit more value.

There have been three or more goals in seven of West Ham’s eight Premier League matches this season, with City going over in four of their last six, leaving us to believe that we are in for plenty of goals here.

And with five of the 10 goals that Pellegrini’s side have got coming in the second half we are hopeful of a couple of late strikes to comfortably take us over the line.
