USA Grand Prix: Record-seeking Mercedes backed in duel forecast

| 29.10.2014

As the USA Grand Prix at Austin’s Circuit of The Americas draws closer we take a look at some of the side markets harbouring potential profits.

Having picked through the stats that count for Formula One’s Texas-based event, we’ve devised three bets that should bring home the bacon:

Duel Forecast Mercedes @ 4/9

In the midst of a four-race winning streak, we’ve already doffed our caps at a fifth consecutive Lewis Hamilton victory in America here at news.ladbrokes.

And with his Mercedes employers on the cusp of history, chasing a long-standing record, and the championship race still so tight between the Brit and teammate Nico Rosberg, this bet makes total sense.

Having dominated in Russia, the Brackley-based F1 team made it nine one-two finishes this year, needing just one more to equal McLaren’s 1988 record of 10 in a single season and two more over the last three races to surpass it.

Sebastian Vettel for a top-six finish @ 8/11

With two podiums from his last three races, Ferrari’s new man and four-time world champion has finally begun to show his true ability.

Vettel not only qualified first in Austin last year, but there the German stayed for the whole of the race at a circuit he clearly relishes.

Betting without Hamilton and Rosberg: Daniel Ricciardo @ 10/3

The Red Bull pilot has been sensational this season, claiming two race wins while no other driver has seen the chequered flag waved in front of them first apart from the Silver Arrows.

14 consecutive points finishes speak for themselves for the canny Australian.
