Stoke v Swansea: Crouch can prove difference at Britannia

Published:

In a week where Peter Crouch pledged his future to Stoke, the ever-popular Potters striker can give his employers yet more reason to extend his contract by continuing his good run of form against Swansea.

Neither side went into the international break in sparkling form and as a result there is not an awful lot to separate the teams in the match odds.

Stoke are 11/8 shots, the Swans 21/10 for the points and the draw is 23/10, but here are three spicier bets for the Sunday afternoon outing:

Wincast: Peter Crouch to score in a Stoke win @ 10/3

Three goals in nine appearances represent a really positive return for Stoke’s 33-year-old striker in the early throes of the season.

The beanpole centre-forward’s goal was enough to see off Newcastle during Stoke’s last Premier League game at the Britannia and Crouch has also notched in four of his last five run-outs against the Welsh club.

Meanwhile, Swansea’s bright start has given way to a poor run of results which has seen them collect just two of the last 12 available points.

Under total 2.5 goals @ 7/10

No stadium in the top flight has been lighter on goals than the Britannia this season, where the scoreboard has only been called into action once in each of the three matches.

Goal Time Quatro: Stoke to score first, 30th minute and under @ 2/1

Stoke have developed an encouraging habit of getting on the scoresheet early in games which will please Mark Hughes.

Over the last three league games the Potters have registered by the 15-minute mark each time.
