Spurs star included in Ladbrokes’ latest Hitman Treble

Published:

Hot on the heels of one of the most goal-heavy nights in the history of European competition, the Europa League looks to follow the Champions League’s act with some net-bulging action of its own.

While the names on Ladbrokes’ Hitman Treble for this round of fixtures aren’t quite as glitzy as the Messis or Ronaldos of recent days, there is still plenty of profit in backing the latest offering, which has been boosted from 5/1 to 7s. Here’s why:

Emmanuel Adebayor to score v Asteras Tripolis

Having sat out Spurs’ return to Premier League action last time out, the Togolese is likely to get a rare gig in the Europa League as Mauricio Pochettino shuffles his pack.

The game could be exactly what the poster boy of inconsistency needs to clear his scoring pipes, as he’s managed just one goal in eight appearances this season.

Tripolis have only kept two clean sheets in their eight Europa League games so far.

Anthony Stokes to score v Astra Giurgiu

Like Spurs’ frustrating line-leader, Stokes’ net finding has gone awry this term having registered 21 goals for Celtic last season.

Unlike Adebayor though, Stokes has a confidence-boosting last outing to rely on ahead of his clash with the Romanian league’s runners up, bagging himself a brace in the Hoops’ 5-0 win over Ross County.

Jonathan Soriano to score v Dinamo Zagreb

The cast-iron security blanket of this treble is the former Barcelona B striker, who has been in Ronaldo-esque form for Red Bull Salzburg.

Soriano bagged 39 goals in 35 outings for Salzburg last season and has continued in that vein with 16 strikes in 13 so far.

Four of those have arrived in the last three games and the 29-year-old has bagged in each of the isotonic-drink-guzzling Austrians’ last two Europa League games.
