Rooney to be record breaker before Euro 2016 qualifying ends

England’s free-kick saviour in an otherwise forgettable trip to Estonia on Sunday, Wayne Rooney is fast approaching the all-time goalscoring record for the Three Lions and Ladbrokes customers would be wise to cash-in now while they have the chance.

A quick look at the England fixture list suggests Rooney could be in line for similar, though perhaps not quite so prolific, returns against the likes of Slovenia, Lithuania and old foes San Marino.

While the Three Lions only managed five goals when they met San Marino at Wembley earlier this month, history suggests they could have more luck in front of goal on the road against the European minnows, having won 7-0 and 8-0 on their last two trips to the region.

Friendly internationals against Scotland and the Republic of Ireland could also present the perfect opportunity for Rooney to break the record, with the England striker no doubt keen to score against either one of the home nations, having drawn a blank in previous encounters.

With three wins from three England look well on their way to Euro 2016, while with two goals in three games, the Manchester United man looks well on his way to being the national team’s best – back him now.
