Redskins @ Cowboys: Back sloppy visitors to commit first turnover

Nobody has been able to stop the Dallas Cowboys over the last six weeks, as they’ve strung wins together as easily as a primary-school girl making a daisy chain to lead the NFC East with a 6-1 record.

Should they come out on top against the Washington Redskins on Monday night, they will match the seven-game winning streak they compiled in 2007, a year they ended with a 13-3 record but lost in the Divisional Playoffs.

Matching the feat of seven years ago, in terms of winning streaks at least, shouldn’t be too tough a task considering the Redskins are propping up the NFC East and are down to their third-string quarterback.

Colt McCoy will take the first snap for the strugglers from the capital after replacing the lacklustre Kirk Cousins in last week’s 19-17 win over Tennessee, an outing in which McCoy threw for 128 yards and a touchdown.

While his last showing impressed enough to earn him a first start in three years, McCoy faced a Titans defence that are far inferior to the Cowboys’.

Dallas rank in the top eight for fewest yards allowed and have claimed a total of 12 takeaways during a campaign in which Washington have lost the ball on 15 occasions.

It’s clear to see why America’s Team are the clear 1/5 favourites to claim victory, but while that may be a price too skinny to tempt a flutter, the 8/11 on the Redskins committing the first turnover is, especially considering they are among the most carefree in the league when in possession.

For Dallas, their impressive play has been built around running back DeMarco Murray, who leads the league in rushing yards and has scored seven touchdowns in as many appearances. The 26-year-old is 7/2 to score the game’s first at AT&T Stadium.
