3 things already apparent in the NFL this season

With the first of this year’s three London-based NFL games already passed, interest in American football is once again reaching fever pitch on this side of the Atlantic.
Miami were the surprise runaway victors at Wembley, treating Oakland to a crushing 38-14 defeat, but while the Dolphins earned the plaudits on the night it is the Raiders who have dominated the headlines since.
The ongoing woes of the California franchise are just one of three things that we already know at this early stage of the season.

The Cowboys are good value for the NFC championship
Dallas weren’t a part of the championship conversation before the season got underway and at 20/1 to land the NFC title are still not fancied by the market.
However, after moving to 3-1 with an impressive 38-17 win over New Orleans last time out, there appears to be plenty of value in a bet on the Cowboys.
Tony Romo will be key to the Texan outfit’s hopes this term and after picking up three touchdowns and 262 yards against the Saints the Cowboy’s quarterback looks set to make his side real contenders.
Romo, however, is not taking all the credit and singled out DeMarco Murray, Scott Linehan and Jason Witten for prise as he described the Cowboy’s offence as “as complete a unit” as he’s been a part of.
Next up for the Cowboys is a Texas derby with Houston (3-1) and a win there will surely see their conference odds tumble.
Oakland are gone already!
The Raiders loss in front of a packed Wembley Stadium took them to 0-4 for the season and means they have now lost 10 games on the bounce dating back to last season.
Things don’t look likely to improve anytime so either with head coach Dennis Allen being relieved of his duties.
Reports suggest Allen’s assistant Tony Sparano will take temporary charge but with the AFC West leading San Diego Chargers (3-1) up next it looks to be a baptism of fire for whoever fills Allen’s shoes. The Raiders are now a 400/1 shot for the AFC title but look best avoided in any market in their current guide.
Arizona or Cincinnati – Someone’s 0 has to go
Just two teams in the league have 100 per cent records intact but with Arizona (3-0) facing a trip to Denver next time out it could be the Bengals who hold on to their ‘0’ longest this season.
The cardinals have been given a seven-point head start by the handicappers ahead of their trip to the Broncos (2-1) so it looks like the end of their winning start this weekend.
