Gregg and Jennifer most fancied for Strictly elimination

Published:

Gregg Wallace is the early favourite to waltz out of Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, according to the latest odds from Ladbrokes.

As the celebrities get ready to hit the dancefloor again the time has come for the first casualty, and the unfortunate ‘honour’ of being favourite lies with Gregg at odds of 2/1, but it’s also just a 3/1 shot Tim Wonnacott is given his marching orders.

However, the bookies can reveal in the last week 70% of all elimination wagers have been for Jennifer Gibney, which has seen her odds halved from 8/1 to 4/1 to leave the show.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “Unfortunately the money suggests Jennifer’s time on Strictly will be short but sweet. Gregg might be the favourite but it looks like he’ll live to fight another day.”

Gregg and Aliona only managed to score 18 with the judges for their Cha Cha last weekend, while Jennifer and Tristan were left languishing near the bottom after receiving the same score for their Jive.

Tim and Natalie didn’t fare much better for their Cha Cha routine, while Radio One DJ Scott Mills could be in danger without significant improvement after finishing bottom of the leaderboard with a points tally of 16.

At the other end of proceedings, Frankie remains the red-hot favourite to be crowned as this year’s Strictly Queen at 11/4, followed closely in the betting by fellow popstars Pixie (7/2) and Simon (4/1).

The Saturdays star received a standing ovation and a mark of 30 for her Waltz with Kevin from Grimsby, including the first eights of the series.

Eastenders star Jake Wood (10/1) and Alison Hammond (25/1) were other celebrities to impress on the opening weekend of the show.
