Fantasy Football – 3 midfield differentials for next four weeks
Published:For those wanting to make up ground in Fantasy Football mini leagues, transferring in any of Raheem Sterling, Cesc Fabregas, Gylfi Sigurdsson or Angel Di Maria to strengthen a midfield is unlikely to make that much of a points dent.
This quartet all have an ownership of more than 40 per cent – fifth in this list is the 18.5 per cent ownership of Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin.
There are a few low-owned candidates emerging as viable alternatives, three of which are below.
Dusan Tadic
A goal and four assists in the 8-0 romp over Sunderland netted Tadic owners a whopping Fabregas,23 points in gameweek 8. He is now the second highest-scoring midfielder in Fantasy Football behind Fabregas.
He is still only selected by 4.6 per cent of managers though, with Southampton’s next four fixtures also favourable – at home to Stoke and Leicester and on the road against Hull and Aston Villa.
Christian Eriksen
Nacer Chadli is the most selected Tottenham midfielder, but Eriksen has only two points less than his teammate and shoots more frequently than the Belgian.
Interestingly, if only the last five weeks are considered, Eriksen has fired in more shots than every other top-flight midfielder, which suggests a big points haul is on the cards. Spurs have Newcastle and Stoke to welcome to White Hart Lane in the next three weeks too.
Ross Barkley
Barkley was the most-owned midfielder last season and managed 66 minutes against Aston Villa in a first appearance of the season against Aston Villa.
The England man got an assist and fired in three shots in his time on the pitch. Everton’s upcoming fixtures are as good as any other Premier League team and Barkley is sure to play a part.
He is currently only in 3.4 per cent of teams, which potentially makes him an extremely lucrative differential.
