Everton v Aston Villa: Naismith a cert to score

Published:

Two teams woefully short of form clash at Goodison Park this weekend with Everton and Aston Villa both desperate for a win.

The hosts are winless in five but still go into the tie as 8/13 favourites, while Villa, who have lost three on the bounce, can be backed to halt their own slide at 9/2.

The draw is more attractively priced at 3/1 and is featured as one of the three best bets of the game. Read on to find out why.

Everton and Aston Villa to draw @ 3/1

Neither side can buy a win at present so it stands to reason that a share of the spoils is on the cards this weekend.

Everton have won just one of their last six in front of a home crowd, while the Villans have tasted victory on the road just three times in 15 attempts and with six of the last 11 meetings ending all square 3/1 is too good to ignore.

Steven Naismith to score anytime @ 8/5 (or first @ 11/2)

Romelu Lukaku and Samuel Eto’o are the headline acts in front of goal for Everton but no one has told Naismith who is in a rich vein of form for both club and country.

The former Rangers star netted in each of Everton’s first three games this season and now has five from 11 appearances this term.

He netted for Scotland against Poland last time out and will relish the chance of playing a Villa side that has conceded in five of their last six outings.

Both teams to score at 3/4

They may be leaky at the back but Villa love scoring on the road, netting in eight of their last nine games away from Villa Park.

Everton are just as adept at scoring at home, having registered in 12 of their last 13 at Goodison, and with both sides netting in nine of the last 11 meetings between the two even at odds-on this is a licence to print money.
