Last dance looming for Jennifer Gibney or Judy Murray on SCD

Published:

Jennifer Gibney and Judy Murray are the joint favourites to leave Strictly Come Dancing next week according to Ladbrokes.

As the competition’s first victim, Gregg Wallace, waltzed out of the show on Sunday night the bookies are already looking ahead to week three and rate Jennifer (7/4) and Judy (7/4) as the most likely celebrities for the axe.

Jennifer and her dance partner Tristan MacManus found themselves in the bottom two after their Waltz failed to impress the audience at home.

But judges Crag Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli all voted to save her in the dance-off leaving Greg to Foxtrott his way home!

At the other end of the leaderboard, it’s also proving impossible to tear apart Frankie Bridge and Pixie Lott in the betting, with the pop princesses sharing odds of 10/3 to be crowned as this year’s winner.

Despite the performances of the leading girls it was Jake Wood who stole the show after scoring 35 with his Salsa routine.

The Eastenders actor, who topped the leaderboard after two dances, is now 7/2 from a massive 14/1 after show one to win the competition.

Unfortunately it’s not as good news for for 100/1 outsider Tim Wonnacott as he finds himself as one of the most unpopular contestants of all time with just £25 worth of wagers being placed on his chances of glory, the biggest bet of which is for £5.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “It’s tight at both the top and bottom of the betting this week, but the early money is predicting Judy will be back on the tennis court sooner rather than later.”

And finally, despite X Factor’s live studio rounds beginning on Saturday with a mammoth 2.5 hour length show the firm still make Strictly heavily odds-on at 1/10 to win the battle of the ratings.
