Champions League Accumulator: Juve lead our treble

Published:

Real Madrid may dominate the conversation ahead of this week’s Champions league fixtures but there are plenty of other exciting games taking place and thus plenty of opportunities to win big.

Ignoring proceedings at Anfield, Ladbrokes News have come up with a tempting 16/1 treble that predicts the best from Switzerland, Portugal and Italy making the most of their away days.

Read on to find out why backing Juventus, Benfica and Basel is the way to go on Wednesday.

Juventus to beat Olympiakos @ 21/20

The Greeks are formidable at home, winning eight of their last 10 as hosts in the competition.

However, after seeing Olympiakos lose 2-0 to Malmo last time out, the Serie A champions and current league leaders Juve will be confident of securing a positive result.

The Italians are unbeaten in 14 domestic ties and will look to use that form against a Piraeus outfit that has lost two of its last three matches.

Benfica to beat Monaco @ 9/4

The Portuguese league leaders go into this tie as underdogs, according to price, but that just makes them a more tempting pick against 10th-placed Ligue 1 side Monaco.

The Principality club have won just one of their last six games in this competition and while Benfica are notoriously dodgy when travelling in Europe their current domestic form of eight wins in 11 games should prove a solid platform for success at the Stade Louis II.

Basel to beat Ludogorets @13/8

Both sides occupy second place in their respective leagues and the debate about the strength of Bulgarian and Swiss football is for another day.

The facts though are these: Basel beat Liverpool last time out and have lost just once in six games in all competitions.

Their hosts on Wednesday, comparatively, have won just one of their last four in all formats and one of seven in the Champions league. Lump on!
