Arsenal v Hull: Gunners’ rearguard to hold firm against the Tigers

Published:

Arsene Wenger will have fond memories of the last time these two sides met with Arsenal finally ending their trophy hoodoo by lifting the FA Cup back in May.

But that is a distant memory now for both sides as Premier League action returns after the international break with both teams desperate for three points.

The Gunners are the 2/5 favourites with Ladbrokes for the win with Hull 7/1 to repeat their famous 2008 victory in north London, while the draw is on at 15/4.

With no value in anything but supporting Hull in the win-draw-win market, Oliver Yew has come up with three alternative bets for the clash.

Over 2.5 Goals @ 13/20

It’s been an exciting time to follow Steve Bruce’s side with goals going in at both ends in matches involving the Tigers.

It might be a short price but it’s as close as a banker we are willing to suggest for the action in north London.

In six of their last seven matches in all competitions over 2.5 goals has landed and with the Gunners in opposition goals are expected once again.

Arsenal to win to nil @ 6/5

In three of the last four league matches between the two sides the Gunners have run out winners and kept a clean sheet in the process.

The Emirates was a defensive fortress last season for Arsene Wenger’s side but so far this year they have failed to keep a clean sheet in front of their own fans.

But with Per Mertesacker set to be joined by Calum Chambers in the absence of the injured Laurent Koscielny, we are backing the Gunners to shore things up on their way to three points against the Tigers.

Danny Welbeck to score 2 or more goals @ 5/1

On his last outing at the Emirates Welbeck smashed in his first career hat-trick and he will be looking to follow it up with a few more goals in front of the Arsenal faithful.

With England colleagues Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain both in good form we are backing the former Manchester United striker, who recently scored for the Three Lions against San Marino, to get on the end of a couple of chances against Hull.
