Arsenal v Galatasaray: Gunners to come out firing

With just one win from six games in all competitions it’s fair to say that Arsenal are in the midst of an indifferent patch of form.
However, the Gunners will look to pick up a confidence boost – and three vital Champions League points – when they host Galatasaray and go into the game as 4/7 favourites.
The Turks can be backed at 9/2 to inflict a second successive European defeat on Arsene Wenger’s men, while a share of the spoils is priced at 10/3.
The stats back up the pricing but with no one likely to get rich backing a straight Arsenal win here are three of the better value bets for the night.
Arsenal have lost three of their last seven Champions League games as hosts but those who suggest the Emirates is not a fortress are wide of the mark.
Prior to this run the Gunners lost just two of 46 European games in north London and with Gala winning just one of six on the road in this competition an Arsenal win looks the most likely outcome.
However, after conceding in five of their last six matches in all competitions it pays to back the visitors to get on the scoresheet too at the longer odds.
If the hosts are to come out on top, the form book suggests the damage will be done in the early stages.
Four of the last five goals scored by Wenger’s side have come in the first half, including all three in the recent 3-0 win over Aston Villa.
Gala, meanwhile, have conceded five first half goals in their last six Champions League outings.
While both teams are tipped to score, a goalfest does not appear to be on the cards so under 3.5 represents good value even at odds-on.
Galatasaray haven’t seen four goals in eight of their last nine games in all competition and the same can be said for six of Arsenal’s last seven.
It’s the Gunners midweek fans who have been starved of high scoring games most however, with each of Arsenal’s last 14 Champions League games earning a return for under 3.5 backers.
