Munster v Saracens: Farrell’s return can inspire Sarries to victory

Published:

Saracens are desperate to go one better than last season when they were beaten finalists in the Heineken Cup and standing in their way this week is a stern test against two-time European Cup winners Munster.

Anthony Foley’s side, who have won three of their last four matches in Europe against Saracens, are the 4/6 favourites for victory, while the Englishmen are 6/5 to continue their impressive start to the campaign.

Despite that record, Ladbrokes News’ Oliver Yew is backing Saracens for a confidence boosting victory and has come up with the three best bets for the action under lights and live on BT Sport.

Saracens to win by 1-10 points @ 11/5

The English side were mightily impressive in front of their home fans in victory over Clermont and will be a stern test for a Munster side who struggled to overcome Sale.

The Red Army, who have a good record against Sarries, are a totally different proposition in front of their own fans but we are backing an experienced Saracens side, who are set to welcome back England number 10 owen Farrell,  to take complete control of Pool One with a close victory.

Chris Ashton to score anytime @ 7/4

The former Northampton winger will be gutted to have missed out on England selection this week but will be determined to show Stuart Lancaster and his coaches what they are missing.

The 27-year-old made the perfect start to the European Champions Cup last week by scoring a double against French side Clermont and we are backing him to continue that form with a try at Thomond Park.

Drop Goal in the match @ 6/5

These two sides played out two tight encounters in the pool stages back in 2012 and with another close match expected we are backing the fly-halfs to keep things pretty tight and take points when they are available.

So don’t be surprised to see a few three-point attempts from open play as both Ian Keatley and Farrell try to keep their sides moving forward.
