Rs manager Harry Redknapp is keen to offload the winger, who is reportedly on a £60,000-a-week contract with the Loftus Road club and has so far failed to feature for the Londoners in the Premier League this season.

SWP previously thrived under Forest manager Stuart Pearce during his early years with Manchester City and with the club currently top of the Championship and chasing a Premier League return, Wright-Phillips could prove to be a major asset to their promotion push.

The current favourites to land the out-of-favour QPR midfielder, the lure of moving to New York coupled with the chance to reconnect with his brother Bradley would undoubtedly make any kind of deal a tempting prospect for the player.
Those behind the scenes at the Red Bulls could also favour a move and the chance to recruit a player with major honours to his name from stints with Chelsea and Manchester City. If Jermain Defoe and Nigel Reo-Coker canthrive there, Wright-Phillips certainly can!
