Vettel to finally land third podium in Singapore GP best bets

Published:

Mercedes will once again occupy the front of the grid at the Singapore Grand Prix, and having pipped his teammate Nico Rosberg to pole in dramatic fashion, it’s Lewis Hamilton who should be backed for successive race wins.

After a thrilling third qualifying session we tip the Brit to follow up his win at Monza by taking the chequered flag in Singapore as part of our trio of best bets:

Hamilton to win the Singapore Grand Prix @ 11/4

0.007 seconds was the wafer thin margin of victory which secured Hamilton pole for the second time in succession and having turned in such an impressive lap at a course he relishes, the Brit gets our vote.

Hamilton led from the front at the Marina Bay street circuit back in 2009 to win and although he’s not seen too much luck here in the past couple of races, it feels like the tide is turning in his favour after Monza.

Vettel to secure a podium finish @ 13/8

It’s quite unbelievable that a podium in the Far East would only equal only Vettel’s third of the entire season, but if he’s going to taste champagne again in 2014 there won’t be many better chances.

The German relishes the illuminated Marina Bay circuit, winning the last three Grand Prixs housed there and from the second row of the grid can pounce on any mistakes from the feuding Silver Arrows.

Red Bull’s excellent downforce has made them ultra competitive in Singapore.

Kimi Raikkonen to finish in the top six @ 5/4

Another former world champion in the doldrums in 2014, but Raikkonen is another who impressed by qualifying seventh at a track where he was on the third step of the podium last season.

Ferrari teammate Fernando Alonso also starts in fifth, showing the Italian team are competitive as expected this weekend, while the Finn came in the top six in 2012 as well.
