Sack Race: Pardew favourite but Dyche has value

The Sack Race could claim its next victim later today with under pressure Newcastle manager Alan Pardew taking his hapless Magpies to Stoke.
Pardew has endured the wrath of the Toon Army so far this season, with Newcastle yet to win a match and currently level on points with basement club Burnley.
The Magpies boss has publicly been backed by owner Mike Ashley, but the Sports Direct billionaire recently told reporters the former Charlton and West Ham boss is just a bad result away from the axe.
Ashley has since claimed, through his lawyer, that his comments were intended as a humorous take on the stories surrounding his manager but defeat at Stoke City will be no laughing matter.
Pardew is the clear frontrunner in Ladbrokes’ Premier League Sack Race market and is now priced at 1/2 to be the next boss to get the chop.
Harry Redknapp is next in the betting at 11/1 after seeing his QPR side, who have won just once so far this season, going down again at the hands of Southampton.
However, Alan Irvine will feel safer in his post than Redknapp after steering West Brom to a comprehensive 4-0 win over Burnley.
Irvine was priced up as a 9/2 shot last week but after the Clarets thrashing the Scot is now available at 12/1.
West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is also a 12/1 shot, but his price remains unaffected by the weekend’s loss to Manchester United.
The Irons were unlucky not to take a point home from Old Trafford, with Kevin Nolan’s late leveller ruled out for a marginal offside, but Big Sam’s fate will not rest on games such as United away so the Hammers boss looks to be occupying a safe seat for now.
The value this week then could come from 20/1 candidate Sean Dyche. After guiding Burnley to an unlikely promotion the former Watford boss can seemingly do no wrong.
However, a few more results like the weekend’s Baggies thumping and the Turf Moor board will be forced to take a serious look at the situation if Premier League survival is their ultimate objective for the season.
