Price Boost: Jelavic enhanced to net first against Hammers

Nikica Jelavic has finally found his shooting boots in Yorkshire with two goals from his three Premier League starts this season.

The former Rangers and Everton striker has taken time to find his feet in front of goal since moving to Hull in a mid-season deal last year but the Croatian is firing on all cylinders now and is the subject of Ladbrokes’ latest Price Boost.

The Tigers frontman opened the scoring in the recent  1-1 draw with Stoke and also netted in the narrow 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa and the bookmaker has enhanced the odds on him firing his side in front against West Ham from 11/2 to a whopping 7/1.

Those who have followed Jelavic’s career over the past two seasons may not be that compelled by the odds, with the Croatian netting just nine goals in that time and opening the scoring just once – against the Potters this term.

However, those with longer memories or an interest in Scottish football will know that on his day Jelavic is a deadly goal threat.

During the 2011-12 campaign, which saw the striker start out at Rangers before earning a Premier League switch to Goodison Park, he netted an impressive 29 times in 51 games for club and country.

More important for those weighing up this fantastic price, the 29-year-old opened the scoring a solid 13 times during that stretch.

Hull have taken the lead in six of their last eight home games against sides from outside of the top six and with Jelavic putting his name on the scoresheet last time Hull faced West Ham, the omens look good for this enhanced bet to come good.

The Tigers are the 23/20 favourites to claim all three points, while West ham are billed as the 13/5 underdogs and the draw can be backed at 23/10.
