Price Boost: Ireland’s leading goalscorer given price boost

Published:

If there’s one man you would choose from the Ireland squad to grab you a goal it would be the country’s leading all-time goalscorer Robbie Keane.

The LA Galaxy hitman has fired 63 goals in 135 games for the Boys in Green and Ladbrokes have made him the subject of their First Goalscorer Price Boost.

Keane was 5/1 but is now 6/1 with Ladbrokes to open the scoring against Georgia at the Boris Paichadzis Erovnuli Stadioni and it’s a price that could prove tempting.

The Irish forward has been in excellent form in the MLS this season and despite a drop in standard his eye for a goal is still there for all to see.

Keane has scored 14 goals in 23 appearances for the Galaxy, who currently sit second in the Western Conference table behind the Seattle Sounders.

The former Tottenham striker has also been in goalscoring touch on the international stage with eight goals in his last nine matches for his country, scoring the first goal of the game on three of those occasions.

While he wasn’t on the scoresheet first he did manage to score twice the last time these two sides met in a friendly at the Aviva Stadium in June last year.

The Irish ran out 4-0 winners that day with Keane coming off the bench to round off the scoring for the Green Army.

But with the 34-year-old set to lead the line for Ireland, who are 13/10 for the win, he looks too good a price at 6/1 to ignore to score the first goal and set Martin O’Neill’s side on their way to victory.

Keane has failed to score in his last two in his last two appearances for Ireland and it’s very the former Aston Villa and Liverpool star goes three games without a goal for the Irish, meaning it could be a good time to back the Ladbrokes Price Boost.
