Pardew cut to see in Xmas at Toon despite vote of confidence

Published:

Alan Pardew’s odds of seeing in Christmas as Newcastle boss have been cut according to Ladbrokes.

Following the short-term vote of confidence placed in Pardew after his side’s 1-0 defeat to Stoke last night the bookies now make him odds-on at 2/5 to be in charge for his side’s next home game as well as 5/2 (from 5/1) to stick around until the 25th of December.

Those who think he will steady the ship at St James’ Park and see out the current campaign can take 5/1 he’s in the dugout for the final game of Newcastle’s season.

It’s 3/1 – from 7/2 – the Magpies are relegated with 9/2 offered they turn things around and climb the table to finish inside the top half.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “After the Stoke result the market suggested Pardew might not even be around for Newcastle’s next game.

“Things have steadied in the short term however and the odds of him lasting longer than the fans may like are shortening.”
