Man United priced up for another rout against Leicester

The monkey was well and truly flung from the back of Louis van Gaal at the weekend, as his Manchester United side delivered his first victory as Red Devils boss in a 4-0 rout of QPR.

Angel Di Maria, Ander Herrera, Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata all brought a smile to the Dutchman’s face by finding the back of Rob Green’s net at Old Trafford, as the three points moved United up from 16th to ninth.

The victory has seemingly ushered in a Brave New World for the formerly floundering club, with desperation and despair replaced by confidence and exuberance over the course of 90 minutes.

To help keep the good feeling around the Theatre of Dreams going, Ladbrokes are offering an early price on another romp being repeated in United’s next outing.

With another of the top-flight’s newcomers the opposition, there’s certainly every chance that Rooney and co can beat Leicester by four or more goals, which is given an 11/1 chance by the bookie.

However, the Foxes’ early-season results suggest such a thumping will be harder to come by than it was against Harry Redknapp’s Hoops.

The current Championship victors have already faced Everton, Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League this term and are yet to concede more than two strikes.

But, with a vibrant set of attacking options at his disposal, Van Gaal will fancy his side’s chances of being the first to break through the up-to-now sturdy Leicester defence.

So far only current pace-setters Chelsea have managed to beat Nigel Pearson’s men by more than one goal this term, but it can be argued that United will have greater firepower to call on from the bench.

Chelsea introduced 36-year-old Didier Drogba into the fray when they hosted the new-boys, while United will likely have Robin van Persie or Radamel Falcao in reserve, making the prospect of late goals all the more likely.
