Man City man to outshine Arsenal debutant with Emirates goal

Published:

Manchester City’s trip to Arsenal is the stand-out fixture of the Premier League card and Ladbrokes have got just the offer to commemorate such an occasion.

Goalscorer punters, listen up! From 12:30pm Saturday until the first goal is scored at the Emirates, the firm’s esteemed Countdown Super Boost offer will be in force.

This means that should the sharpest sharpshooter in the Citizens’ ranks, Sergio Aguero, or freshly-minted Gunner Danny Welbeck bag at any time in the game, backers will be rewarded to the tune of 2/1 with a max stake of £10. Click here for T&Cs.

Not bad, huh?

But it does pose one problem: who to put your money on?

Neither has been prolific against their next respective adversaries, with Welbz notching just one in eight Manchester derbies and Aguero only one goal better off in five versus the north Londoners.

Unlike his English counterpart, however, the Argentine has found the net this term, sparking celebrations amongst those to back him to notch at any stage on two separate instances.

Furthermore, Welbeck has just two league goals to his name against top-four bedfellows since breaking into the Manchester United first-team.

He may have started the bulk of these matches on the wing or the bench, but this stat does little to inspire faith in a punt on the son of Longsight.

Aguero is much more lethal when facing top-four brethren. In 19 appearances against the three rivals to qualify for the Champions League alongside Man City last season, the former Atletico man was on target eight times.

The bulk of his recent goals have come once a team-mate has crow barred the deadlock off, so side with the seasoned Citizen over the rookie Gunner here.
