Johnstone’s Paint Trophy accumulator: Bradford to bring it

Published:

With the transfer window well and truly shut, attention turns to Tuesday’s bumper schedule of Johnstone’s Paint Trophy fixtures and our latest accumulator.

Featuring wins for three former Premier League sides in Barnsley, Bradford and Coventry, as well as a victory for in-form Cheltenham, this fantastic fourfold offers odds of 23/1 with Ladbrokes and is not to be missed.

So read on to get the low-down on just why you should be getting involved in the Football League Trophy action later today.

Bradford to beat Oldham @ 9/5

A 2-0 win away at Rochdale last time out made it three wins from four for the Bantams and Phil Parkinson will be confident of victory at Boundary Park after picking up seven points from their last nine available away from home in League One.

Oldham have yet to win at home this season and could struggle against a Bradford side that has kept clean sheets in three of their last four away from home.

Barnsley to beat York City @ 5/6

The Tykes trounced Gillingham 4-1 last time out at Oakwell and after picking up a good point away to Yeovil Town over the weekend, Barnsley are now four games unbeaten heading into this midweek Yorkshire derby encounter with York.

Nigel Worthington’s team are without a win so far this season and have kept just one clean sheet from the six competitive games they have played this term.

Cheltenham to beat Oxford United @11/10

The Robins are well and truly rocking this season with 13 points from their first five games in League Two and should make light work of an Oxford side that has picked up just a single point so far this term.

The U’s have shipped goals in six of their seven competitive games so far and have yet to taste victory this term and the misery should continue against a Town team unbeaten at home this season.

Coventry to beat Wycombe @ 11/8

Wycombe’s early season form beguiles their status as relegation strugglers, and after tasting defeat to Tranmere last time out at Adams Park in the league, the visit of a Coventry side that travels well could see them return to their default setting as League Two whipping boys.

The Midlands club has already picked up great draws away against Swindon and MK Dons – two teams known for their excellent home form – and should be backed to win here.
