International Acca: Poland among Sunday’s bankers

Published:

The number of teams involved in qualification for Euro 2016 means that the majority of games are extremely one-sided.

The mismatches might not make great viewing and taken individually are difficult to generate big winnings from.

Fortunately, with few – if any – banana skins in sight the fixtures can be combined for an accumulator paying out at over 17/1!

Read on to get your picks for Sunday’s banker bets.

Finland to beat Faroe Islands @ 1/6

The Faroes might be great at strongman competitions but football isn’t their bag. The hosts have won once in 22 qualifiers at home and are unlikely to improve that record here.

Germany to beat Scotland @ 1/6

They may have been beaten by Argentina last time out but the World Cup winners will put out a stronger side for the visiting Scots, who have won just one of their last five away qualifiers.

Poland to beat Gibraltar @ 1/14

It’s Poland – who recently held Germany 0-0 – against Gibraltar! Enough said!

Greece to beat Romania @ evens

Not as one sided a game as some on this list but the Greeks beat Romania 3-1 at home last year and have won eight and drawn one of their last nine at home.

Portugal to beat Albania @ 2/7

They may have disappointed at the World Cup but Portugal have lost just one Euro qualifier in 28 – and that was in 1998 – while Albania have won one of 21 away games!

Denmark to beat Armenia @ 4/9

The Danes have won their last six qualifiers at home while Armenia have lost four of five away games with their only victory a narrow 4-3 win over the UAE. Oh and Denmark won 4-0 last time the sides met in 2013.

Republic of Ireland to beat Georgia @ 13/10

The Republic are unbeaten in nine Euro qualifiers and beat Georgia 4-0 last year. A repeat looks likely given the hosts have lost four and drawn one of their last five.

Hungary to beat Northern Ireland @ 9/20

Hungary’s only defeat in five Euro qualifiers came against World Cup finalists Holland while Northern Ireland have tasted victory just once in 22 attempts!
