Frampton has the tools to knock Martinez out again
Every boxing pundit around the world has predicted at one time or another that Carl Frampton will one day become a world champion and on Saturday night he will finally get the chance to realise his dream when he faces Kiko Martinez for the IBF super bantamweight title.
But with the 27-year-old expected to become the first Northern Irish bona fide world champion since Wayne McCullough in 1996, Ladbrokes News have come up with three alternative bets providing a little more value than just a Frampton win.
The Northern Irishman’s power is there for all to see with 13 KO victories in 18 professional fights and against Martinez the 27-year-old can pick up his fifth stoppage win in succession.
His Spanish opponent has been on an upward curve since the last fight between the pair but Frampton’s style is all wrong for him and once again he can wear down Martinez and stop him late on.
At 10/11 with Ladbrokes this is our banker of the night!
In the first bout between the two Frampton’s game plan worked to perfection with his powerful combinations slowly wearing down the Spaniard, resulting in a ninth round stoppage.
With the second fight predicted to go much in the same vein, why not back ‘The Jackal’ to put in a repeat performance and win his first world title by knocking out Martinez in round nine once again.
While a new champion should be crowned in Belfast on Saturday night don’t expect Martinez to give up his IBF strap without a fight!
“La Sensación” is a tough man and has built his career up the hard way and Frampton should not take the man he beat back in February of last year lightly.
However, as previously mentioned Frampton is just all wrong for the 29-year-old and his superior technique and power will pay dividends in the end.
