Everton flyer tops Prem trio of international star performers

Phew! (we hear you cry) the international break is over and the altogether more thrilling business of the Premier League can take its place. However, there were a few performances from top-flight stars during the last week which should be hailed before we move on.

These three players cannot only take a bow, but having located their shooting boots in impressive fashion will surely be worth a flutter in their respective forthcoming league fixtures.

Aiden McGeady – 12/1 to score v West Brom

Everton’s tricky wide man fired a match-winning brace in Georgia to send the travelling Green Army into raptures and he must surely be an inclusion in Roberto Martinez’s team to face West Brom as a result. McGeady’s second goal was sublime.

Danny Welbeck – 6/1 to score first v Manchester City

Arsenal’s new boy proved he has the potential to flourish as a number nine when pouncing twice in true striker fashion to sink Switzerland in Basel. He’ll get a pretty grand debut at home to Manchester City.

Gylfi Sigurdsson – 15/2 to score any time v Chelsea

Iceland’s 3-0 rout of Turkey proved one of the results of the international break and Swansea’s man of the moment was naturally involved, bagging the second. The former Tottenham attacker opened his account at Old Trafford and rates a good bet to stun Chelsea as well in this form.
