Championship Acca: Bournemouth and Watford backed

Published:

The return of the Champions League will no doubt dominate the football headlines this week but there is still plenty of domestic action to savour, with a full schedule of midweek Championship games.

And with this tempting  five-fold, put together by Ladbrokes News, there are plenty of reasons to ignore the happenings at the Nou Camp , Bernabeu and Allianz Arena and pay attention to the action at Dean Court, The Valley and Griffin Park.

Bournemouth, Watford, Norwich, Charlton and Rotherham are the picks for this week’s accumulator, with odds of over 62/1, so read on to see why these five should be backed.

Watford to beat Blackpool @ 4/5

The Hornets may have lost to Charlton last time out but the Tangerines are yet to taste victory this season, losing their first five and drawing their most recent Championship outing.

Blackpool have now won just two of their last 17 games at home and after losing 4-0 to Watford last time the sides met look doomed to defeat again here.

Bournemouth to beat Leeds @ 13/20

The Cherries are on a four-game winless streak but look set to secure three points when Leeds visit Dean Court.

Bournemouth have lost just three of 16 league games at home, while Leeds have won just three on the road in that time. The 4-1 scoreline in favour of the south coast club last time the sides met points to a win for Eddie Howe’s men.

Norwich to beat Brentford @ 6/4

Despite starting the season well the Bees needed victory over Brighton at the weekend to end a three-game winless streak at Griffin Park which included a home loss to bottom side Fulham.

Norwich, meanwhile, are top of the table after winning four and drawing one since their opening day defeat. The 4-2 comeback victory over Cardiff last time out shows the Canaries don’t need home comfort to ensure a win.

Charlton to beat Wolves @ 13/8

The Addicks have won four on the bounce at home and will be confident of beating a Wolves side that was held by struggling Blackpool last time out and has won just once in six games on the road.

Charlton have taken four points off the Midlands in their last two league meetings and after winning the most recent clash 2-1 are the obvious pick for this one.

Rotherham to beat Bolton @ 9/4

Rotherham have lost twice on the road already but with those defeats coming to Derby and Swansea they can be overlooked.

Their other three road trips have brought two wins and a credible draw with Bournemouth last time out. Bolton, on the other hand, are yet to win this year and last claimed three points at the Macron Stadium in April.
