Capital One Cup Treble: Derby and MK Dons to do the job

Published:

With a plethora of difficult-to-predict League Cup games scheduled for this Tuesday, we’ve have sifted through the fixture list to give you a treble that looks sure to score you some midweek profits.

Backing the favourites is the order of the day in this trio, with Derby, MK Dons and Norwich all backed to deliver the wins the bookies expect.

Available at a tempting price of just under 9/2, on a night when Southampton meet Arsenal and Liverpool face Middlesbrough, these are three results you can certainly count on.

Derby to beat Reading @ 8/11

Steve McClaren’s side showed plenty of fighting spirit to battle back from 2-0 against Cardiff City at Pride Park on Saturday in a result that saw them extend their unbeaten run at home to five games.

The same cannot be said of Reading, who slumped to a 1-0 loss at Sheffield Wednesday in their second defeat in four games away from the Madejski. The Rams should have enough to see the Royals off here, having gone 14 games unbeaten in Derby.

MK Dons to beat Bradford @ 5/6

The Dons warmed up for the visit of Bradford in some style, winning 6-1 against Crewe at Stadium mk ,to leave them in the best possible shape to ensure that 4-0 triumph over Manchester United goes down as more than just a memorable night in Milton Keynes.

Their route to Wembley is currently blocked by the Bantams, finalists themselves two years ago, but manager Phil Parkinson will be concerned by a recent run of just one win in five, with Bradford stuttering to a 0-0 draw with lowly Colchester last time out.

Norwich to beat Shrewsbury @ 8/11

The Shrews are pushing for a play-off berth themselves, but Norwich have shown that most sought after of qualities in the Championship so far this term – consistency. Second in the division and on a run of eight games without defeat, a trip to Greenhous Meadow should pose few problems.

Currently on a run of three straight victories on the road, the Canaries will be expected to progress here against a Shrewsbury side that has suffered a dip in form of late, with just one win to their name from their previous five outings.
