Breaking Bets: McGeady to build on Ireland strikes

Ireland ace Aiden McGeady could be set to take his international goal scoring exploits into the Premier League and can be backed to do so as part of Ladbrokes’ Breaking Bets series.
The Everton ace bagged a brace – including a last-minute winner – in the Republic’s 2-1 win over Georgia at the weekend and the bookmaker has moved quickly to install the Toffees midfielder as a 22/1 shot to score two or more against West Brom this weekend.
The second of McGeady’s Ireland goals – which earned the Republic a valuable three points away to Georgia – was a remarkable effort and showed the midfielder is back to his best in front of goal.

Speaking about the strike, the Ireland assistant manager said: “If you score a goal like that, you deserve to win the game. If anyone else did that, the top players in the world, you would be talking about it for a long time.
“The turn, the touch, the finish – only he could do that. No-one else on that field would have been able to do that.”
Everton look to get their season back on track away to West Brom on Saturday after losing 6-3 to Chelsea last time out and while Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas remain the Merseyside outfit’s biggest goal threat after rediscovering his from in front of goal McGeady represents by far the greater value.
The former Spartak Moscow and Celtic man has struggled for goals in the past but hit the ground running this season by netting in Everton’s 2-2 opening day draw with Leicester.
McGeady last scored two in a domestic game in 2009 and hit just two goals in 39 games for club and country last season but the Irishman is enjoying a new lease of life at Goodison Park and making the most of Ross Barkley’s absence through injury.
The 28-year-old has featured in all three Premier League games for Everton so far this season and looks set to retain the faith of manager Roberto Martinez for the trip to the Hawthorns.
