Barcelona tempting price to draw a blank against Granada

Published:

Barcelona may sit atop of the Primera Division standings and four points clear of Real Madrid but while the goals continue to rain in Spain’s capital city, the Catalans are in the midst of something approaching a mini-drought – and this could be your opportunity to take advantage.

Ahead of Granada’s visit to the Nou Camp, Barca are being priced at 16/1 with Ladbrokes to fail to find the net against their lowly La Liga visitors in the latest chapter of the bookmaker’s Breaking Bets series.

The price enhancement comes after Luis Enrique’s side drew a blank away at Malaga in a game that saw the Catalans fail to even register a shot on target.

It was the first time Barcelona failed to get a single shot on target in a La Liga clash since the start of the 2003/04 season and could have fans counting down the days until Luis Suarez’s suspension ends.

In the meantime the mood around the Barca camp is unlikely to be helped by the current scoring exploits of Real, with Los Galacticos racking up a sensational 18 goals in their last three competitive outings.

Cristiano Ronaldo is already being tipped up to complete a hat-trick of hat-tricks against Villarreal on Saturday and every additional Real goal is likely to feel like a knife to the heart for Barca.

There is certainly some reason to think this could be more than just an isolated result, with Barcelona previously labouring to a 1-0 win over Cypriot minnows Apoel Nicosia in the Champions League in the same week Los Merengues were putting five past Basel in Madrid.

And if anyone is capable of keeping Barca out on current form it’s a Granada side that has kept clean sheets in two of their last three Primera Division games.

Joaquin Caparros’ charges actually beat Barcelona 1-0 the last time the teams met in La Liga and with the pressure on Lionel Messi and co, there’s never been a better time to back more Nou Camp catastrophe.
