Stoke City sign winger Assaidi from Liverpool

Stoke have sealed a deal to sign Liverpool winger  Oussama Assaidi.

Mark Hughes was close to be completing a deal for the Moroccan earlier in the summer, after agreeing a fee with the Reds, but the two parties failed to negotiate personal terms  and the deal was put on the back burner.

But after being told he has no future at Anfield, Assaidi’s move to Potters has been completed in a deal worth around £5m.

The 26-year-old spent last season on loan at Stoke making 19 appearances, scoring four goals and with Peter Odemwingie suffering an injury against Manchester City, Hughes was forced in the transfer market for a right sided midfielder.

Aaron Lennon was reportedly on the radar for the Potters but with no move materialising Hughes switched targets and has now finalised a deal in time for Assaidi.

Stoke have made a solid start to the season taking four points from their opening three Premier League matches.

The Potters are 1/5 tyo avoid relegation and if Assaidi joins the club they could be looking at finishing much higher up the table.

Hughes’ men are 13/10 to enjoy a top 10 finish in the Premier League this season.
