Arsenal v Tottenham: Gunners to shut out Spurs at the Emirates

Published:

Arsene Wenger takes on yet another Tottenham manager when Mauricio Pochettino brings his Spurs side to the Emirates Stadium for the first time.

It’s fair to say the Gunners boss has enjoyed an excellent record against his club’s local rivals, going unbeaten in 20 of the 21 north London derbies he has managed at home.

Arsenal are 4/5 favourites to give the Frenchman his 16th home win against a 10th different Spurs manager, while the visitors are 10/3 to pick up just their second victory away at their rivals in 21 years.

The draw is available at 13/5 with Ladbrokes but here Oliver Yew has dug a bit deeper to come up with his three best bets for the north London Derby.

Arsenal to win to nil @ 2/1

Arsenal are unbeaten in 20 matches in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium and during that run of games have conceded just 11 goals.

In all three fixtures between the two sides last season it was the red half of north London celebrating  with clean sheets for good measure each time.

And with the last time Tottenham scored a goal against the Gunners 571 days ago we are backing Wenger’s men to win to nil.

Danny Welbeck to score first @ 9/2

Arsenal fans took to Welbeck straight away after the former Manchester United man turned down a move to Tottenham in favour of joining the Gunners.

The 24-year-old will be full of confidence after bagging his first Arsenal goal in the 3-0 win away at Aston Villa and has scored twice against Tottenham in his career already.

But Welbeck, who has scored in a Manchester derby, will be desperate to become an instant hero on the red side of north London with a derby day goal.

Arsenal to win 1-0 @ 13/2

Last season we saw the goals dry up in north London derbies with Arsenal picking up the double other their rivals with 1-0 scorelines both home and away.

And with this contest, just like last season, coming very early on in the season it could be a cagey affair so back the Gunners to nick all three points with another 1-0 victory over their rivals.
