Advantage QPR as Ghana World Cup winger rejects Hull move

Harry Redknapp could be set to pull of one of the transfer coups of the summer, should Marseille attacker Andre Ayew be convinced to join the Loftus Road club.

The wheeler-dealer Rs boss has been handed one piece of good news already in his battle to recruit the 24-year-old, amid reports from France claiming the Ghana international has rejected an offer from fellow Premier League side Hull City.

According to a report from Get French Football News the winger, who can also play as a secondary striker, has opted against a move to the KC Stadium.

Ayew’s agent reportedly informed Romain Molina that the Marseille man would “not be joining this type of club” during the summer transfer window.

Whether that rules out a move to QPR remains to be seen, but with the club based in London and able to offer the Ghanaian substantial wages, a Loftus Road switch was always likely to prove a more palatable option.

Ayew may also look at the example of Loic Remy as further encouragement to take up any potential offer from Rangers.

Remy, a former Marseille teammate of Ayew, has just signed for Chelsea from QPR in a deal worth £10.5m to the London club.

Should Ayew impress with the Rs then a similar move could be on the cards, with the winger previously making no secret of his admiration for Liverpool – the team he supports.

His arrival at Loftus Road would be a major boost to the club’s survival chances, with Ayew previously impressing for Ghana at the World Cup with two well-taken goals against Team USA and Germany.

Ayew is keen to depart France and take his career to the next level, after six years on the books at L’OM.

New manager Marcelo Bielsa also looks happy to oblige with the Argentine keen to free up funds for any future transfer deals.
