T20 Blast Finals Day: Surrey dominate the best bets of the day

Four teams travel to Warwickshire in the hope of landing the inaugural title for the ECB’s rebranded competition, but there’s plenty of cricket to be played before that can happen.

Jason Roy has been the ideal poster boy for the T20 Blast this summer, a young English cricketer leading the run-scoring charts by blazing the ball to all parts.
His ultra-aggressive modus operandi either pays off or has him sat back in the dugout quite quickly and, when the latter occurs, it’s usually Surrey skipper Wilson who mops up.
The Irishman is the club’s second leading runscorer in T20 this year and, with glitzy names like Kevin Pietersen and Tillakaratne Dilshan distracting the bookies attention, his price is very appealing.
It’s the team cohesion of Hampshire, a club who have reached this point of the competition for a fifth straight year, that are picked to prevail over the star quality Lancashire possess.
Jimmy Anderson and Jos Buttler are back in the red shirt of their county, but the former doesn’t play much short-form cricket these days while the latter can’t win the match on his own.
Hants’ pedigree in the tournament along with a host of in-form players gives them the edge.
Birmingham’s home advantage isn’t expected to count for much against Surrey in the quarter final, with an expected final against Hampshire likely to swing the London-based club’s way.
Surrey gave James Vince’s side quite a hiding during the group stage, chasing down 132 in just 14 overs for the loss of two wickets and will be too strong once again.
