Sanchez set to sign on in style in Wembley debut

Before Aaron Ramsay popped up with a late winner in the FA Cup final back in May, it looked like Arsenal’s wait to lift a trophy of any kind was going to stretch to a 10th full season.

But with the hoodoo ended, the Gunners have the chance to make it back-to-back victories on their visits to Wembley. It’s just a simple matter of champions Manchester City that stand in their way.

And what better way to prepare for the start of the season than a couple of cracking Community Shield price boosts from Ladbrokes?

Few arrivals to the Premier League over the summer excited fans of a particular club more than the arrival of Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal.

The Chilean hitman’s arrival from Barcelona in a circa £35m deal was a real signal of intent from Arsene Wenger ahead of this campaign.

Sanchez, despite being far from a guaranteed starter at the Catalan club, was devastating when he got the chance, netting 19 La Liga goals in 34 appearances.

The Gunners could be onto something good with their new number 17, with Ladbrokes boosting the price on him opening the scoring on his competitive debut for the club from 7/1 to 8/1.

At the other end of the pitch, rather than looking to make a good start for his team, Stevan Jovetic is fighting for his place at Manchester City.

The man from Montenegro was a victim of injuries and City’s embarrassment of riches as he struggled to hold down a spot in the Citizens starting eleven last season.

Now with the possible arrival of Radamel Falcao at Eastlands, he will be even keener to prove his worth to Manuel Pelligrini.

Having netted six times so far in pre-season, he is certainly going about that the right way, and being the first name on the scoresheet at Wembley is a real possibility.

Nevertheless, Ladbrokes are now offering an industry best 7/1 (from 11/2) that he continues the build up to the Premier League campaign in fine style.
