Price Boost: Aguero and Sturridge enhanced to score first

Published:

Monday night offers up the first big clash of the season as last year’s top two face off at Eastlands and Ladbrokes has added to the occasion with a timely Price Boost.

The game will see two of the Premier League’s best strikers – Sergio Aguero and Daniel Sturridge – face off and the bookmaker has enhanced the odds on not one but both men to open the scoring.

City will be hoping their man gets the champions off to a flying start and odds of 5/1 – up from 4/1 – suggest the Citizens’ star is up to the task.

Liverpool, however, will be desperate to lay down a marker against the Sky Blues and Daniel Sturridge looks extremely good value to break the duck at 7/1 from 6/1 to score first.

Both Aguero and Sturridge have hit the ground running this term, with both players finding the net in their opening matches to help their sides to comfortable wins.

Aguero has picked up where he left off after hitting 28 goals for club and country last term.

The Argentine ace has a proven knack for getting his side up and running too, after eight of his goals came first in matches for City and La Albiceleste during the 2013-14 campaign and into the World Cup.

However, Sturridge’s record puts even Kun in the shade, with the England man really hitting his stride since moving to Anfield.

The former Chelsea and Manchester City star now has 34 goals in 50 games for the Reds and has Ladbrokes ambassador Chris Kamara suggesting he could become one of the Kop greats.

The 24-year-old also hit 28 goals for club and country last term but outdoes his Sunday rival by one with nine of those strikes getting proceedings underway.

Liverpool are on the brink of signing Mario Balotelli from AC Milan but with the move not concluded in time for the Italian to feature this weekend, Sturridge has an extra incentive to cement himself as Liverpool’s main man.
