Celebrity Big Brother: Our take on the CBB14 housemates

Published:

Celebrity Big Brother is set to return to our screens with Channel 5 producers promising us that the 14th edition of the reality TV smash will provide ‘must-watch’ entertainment.

We’ll be the judges of that but you can’t fault the show’s creators for their attempts to put together yet another eclectic assortment of housemates.

Here’s our rundown of the projected final line-up:

Kellie Maloney – 5/2

61-year-old Kellie Maloney is the early favourite to take the CBB title from comedian Jim Davidson.

Viewers will no doubt be intrigued to hear more from the boxing promoter formerly known as Frank Maloney, following the announcement of her decision to become a woman.

Dee Kelly  –  3/1

Star of Channel 4’s Benefits Street, ‘White Dee’ is sure to attract attention for a number of reasons.

Her anticipated popularity is reflected in her status as the second favourite but we think the public may soon tire of her brazen attitude. Avoid.

Audley Harrison – 5/1

The Olympic gold medallist heavyweight boxer has the perfect opportunity to get the British public back onside following a series of catastrophic performances in the professional ranks.

Former promoter Maloney could be a useful ally. Can’t be as unpopular as CBB13 pugilist Evander Holyfield.

George Gilbey – 6/1

Having already found fame on a reality TV show, the squeaky-voiced star of Gogglebox has another opportunity to make a name for himself.

Except this time we’ll be the ones offering the critique from the comfort of our own sofas.

Gary Busey – 8/1

Known for his roles in films such as Lethal Weapon and Point Break, 70-year-old Busey looks set to be this year’s token American star.

Having spent time on the show Celebrity Rehab to study his impulsive behaviour, the actor now has the chance to be examined by a baying British audience.

Ricci Guarnaccio – 12/1

A hunk from Geordie Shore and once went out with co-star Vicky Pattinson. Yeah, that’s about as much as we could stomach.

David McIntosh – 12/1

Remember Tornado from the Sky1 version of Gladiators? We don’t either but he’s here (so we’re told) and he also happens to be the financé of Kelly Brook.

Fair play to him.

Lauren Goodger – 14/1

Former TOWIE person (can’t keep using the word ‘star’) Goodger will be hoping to emulate the relative success of Sam Faiers, who finished fifth overall in the previous edition.

We’d like to see her and George get together.

Edele Lynch – 14/1

Sister of Boyzone singer Shane Lynch, the former B*Witched member is once again looking to resurrect her career.

If The Big Reunion couldn’t do it then I’m sure a bit of the CBB stardust will do just the trick.

James Jordan – 16/1

What’s the best thing to do after being unceremoniously dumped by the BBC? Get straight back in the saddle and throw yourself at the mercy of the viewing public of course.

That’s what Strictly Come Dancing favourite Jordan is doing and we wish him the best of luck.

At least he’ll have Ola to come home to if it all goes wrong early on.

Claire King – 16/1

Perhaps better known as the explosive Kim Tate from Emmerdale, show producers will be hoping that King can produce more fireworks.

However, the likelihood is she could be one of the first to go.

Stephanie Pratt – 20/1

Described by other news outlets as ‘The Hills airhead’ we couldn’t find much else to disprove that portrayal.

The Made in Chelsea Star is definitely the outsider but even at 20/1 could represent a bit of value.
