Breaking Bets: Balotelli priced up to fire hat-trick on Liverpool debut

Published:

Mario Balotelli’s first appearance in a Liverpool shirt could be at White Hart Lane next weekend and Ladbrokes have priced the Italian up at 40/1 to make a dream start and score a hat-trick against Tottenham.

The striker is the latest in our series of Breaking Bets – up to the minute specials live form the Ladbrokes trading floor –  after he completed his £16m move from AC Milan to Anfield and the well known hot-head is an attractive price to start his second spell in England with a bang.

And the 24-year-old is well known for making an instant impact with his new clubs, scoring on both his Manchester City and AC Milan debuts.

Balotelli fired the only goal of the game on his first appearance for the Citizens as he came off the bench in a 1–0 away win in the Europa League against Politehnica Timişoara.

The former Inter striker made an even greater impact following his move from the Etihad Stadium to AC Milan, scoring twice on his Serie A debut in a 2-1 win over Udinese.

Balotelli went on to score in his next two matches for the Rossoneri equalling Oliver Bierhoff’s record of four goals in his first three matches for Milan.

Liverpool fans will be hoping the Italy forward can make a similar impression for Liverpool starting in north London at a venue where they won 5-0 in the Premier League last season.

Luis Suarez, who joined Barcelona for £80m this summer, was the main man for the Reds that day, scoring two goals and producing two assists.

And for those who think Balotelli, the man Brendan Rodgers hopes will fill Suarez’s shoes on the pitch rather than off it, can make an even greater impact for Liverpool at Spurs should not ignore Ladbrokes’ 40/1 on a Super Mario treble.
