Bradley leads trio of ripe each-way bets for PGA Championship

Published:

While every one of golfs elite players will be dreaming of holding the coveted Wanamaker Trophy aloft come Sunday at Valhalla, the sub-plot of gaining precious Ryder Cup points is driving on two of our three PGA Championship each-way picks.

With Ladbrokes paying six places on this year’s PGA Championship, here are three players with great cases to be in the shakedown on the final day at Valhalla:

Keegan Bradley 25/1

Given his current position hovering on the wrong side of the 10 automatic Team USA Ryder Cup places, the 2011 PGA champ is a man on a mission at Valhalla.

I know Ive got to play good golf the next two weeks, Bradley said. Theres plenty of points available to make the team. My plan is to make the team on my own.

The American is shaping up very well to make good on his intentions too, having managed tied-fourth at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational his third top five in six starts.

Charl Schwartzel 33/1

After a relative period in the wilderness the former Masters champion is beginning to display the kind of graceful, precision golf which helped add the green jacket to his wardrobe.

Currently ranking ninth in adjusted scoring, the South African has been busy assembling top-10 finishes of late, adding a tied-fourth at Firestone to eighth at Memorial in June and seventh at the Open Championship last month.

A US Open missed cut is the only anomaly.

Ryan Moore 66/1

Another man with Gleneagles firmly on the mind is Moore, also currently on the fringes of an automatic Team USA berth.

Tied for 12th at The Open is the Tacoma natives worst finish in his last four starts which latterly saw him tie for eighth at Bridgestone and included fifth and seventh-placed postings before that.

Say no Moore.
